November 13th, 2007 Minutes - 12/20/2007 November 13,2007 DCUSA Minutes Wynncom Communications 6:00 Recreation Meeting 7:00 Challenge Meeting Recreation Meeting Attendance-Jimmy Wynn, Chad Killebrew, Dan Adams, Jeannie Belk Called to order at 6:10pm. Discussion: The offsides law set forth by NCYSA. Some of the coaches have complained that when U10 kids move up to U12 it’s harder to teach the offsides law. Motion I Jimmy Wynn made the following motion to not change the rule of “no offsides” since the rest of our area and state are complying with NCYSA regulations. Jeannie Belk seconded the motion Vote: Unanimous Discussion on no goalies at U8 age levels. Concerns were U8 teams were placing a “defender” in front of the goal to defend the goal. The defenders are getting pummeled with the ball in the stomach. Research is being done by Dan Adams before a ruling will be passed on this, as to what our neighboring areas are doing. Jeannie Belk wrapped up the Rec. meeting with positive comments from coaches regarding the first season with gender specific teams. Challenge Meeting Attendance-Jimmy Wynn, Chad Killebrew, Lynn Gobble, Dan Adams, Angie Gray, Tim Dezego, Ed Mahoney Called to order at 7:00 Recapp of the budget and over due fees from players. We have a few players that haven’t paid any fees at all. Motion made by Lynn Gobble to not allow players to play in the up coming season until balance is paid. If they have paid and are attempting to continue to pay on a payment plan they can play. Seconded by Tim Dezego Vote: Unanimous Tim Dezego reminded everyone of upcoming intent to play forms due into TCL Association. Discussion on Soccer Camps. Soccer camp for teams in August. More research to be done. Discussion on Coaching Clinic for Rec coaches. Making it a mandatory thing for all Rec coaches so they understand calls made by Referees. Awareness on DCUSA getting it out to Davidson County. Board agreed to put a float in the Lexington Parade. To purchase 50 balls and hand out to the crowd. Any Rec and Challenge players are needed to walk in the parade. Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 Next meeting to be determined in January view all rules/regs
