Meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM by Jeannie Belk.

Issues Discussed:

• Gender Specific Age Groups: It was decided that as long as there were enough players for 4 teams in the U-6 and U-8 age groups, teams would stay gender specific for the spring season. If team numbers dropped below 4, then teams would be co-ed. U-10 will remain co-ed for the spring season.
• Jimmy Wynn made a motion, seconded by Mark Temple. That U-8 games would include a goal keeper beginning with the spring season. No player is permitted to play more than one half of any game as a goal keeper. Game will still be played as 5 v 5, with one player identified as the goal keeper.
Motion Passed 3-1
• Scheduling:
Start and Ending Dates: Start Date is April 5th and ending date is May 17th.
U-6 will play 10 games.
U-8 & U-10 will play 8 games with a season ending tournament to follow.
Wednesday and Sunday will be utilized as make-up dates only.
• Jamey Balew made a motion, Seconded by Mark Temple. For U-8 & U-10 tournament games only, if at the end of regulation time the scored is tied, the teams will play two 5 minute halves, if still tied; FIFA kicks from the Mark will determine the winning or advancing team.
Motion Passed: Unanimous
• Jamey Balew made a motion, seconded by Cheryl Walser. Any player currently registered on a challenge or Classic team may not participate in the U10 or under recreational teams. For U12 an above, permission must be awarded by the recreational committee.
Motion Passed: Unanimous
• Field Space was discussed:
Churchland: will have use of all fields except the weekend of April 4-5-6.
DT: probably have no fields for spring 08
DA: all fields available
Reeds: Mark will follow up with availability, Jeanette will be available.
• Issue was discussed of handling lopsided games and coaches miss-using the no offside rule. The approach was to educate our coaches and suggest ways to handle these to items from within the booster clubs. Coach Chris Brown is going to have a player and coach’s clinic at Tyro, for the coaches attending-these two items will be discussed. More information will be available for this clinic.
Meeting was adjourned.
Respectively Submitted: Dan Adams (filling in for Lynn Gobble-Secretary)
