May 5th, 2008 Challenge Minutes - 5/18/2008 DCUSA Challenge Meeting May 5th 6:00 Attendees: Executive Board: Jimmy Wynn-President, Chad Killebrew-Vice President, Lynn Gobble-Secretary, Angie Gray-Treasurer Members: Tim Dezego-TCL Liason, Ed Mahoney-Registrar, Dan Adams-Referee Assignor, Donna Myers U10 Girls Coach, Chad H-DOC, Chris Brown-DOC, Jeff Bodenheimer-Asst. U10 Boys Coach Guests: Ricky Murphy-Guil Rand U14Boys Coach Called to Order at 6:15pm Open Discussion GuilRand wants to move U14 Boys to DCUSA. 5 teams remaining with 2 teams needing to be relocated. Needing support and kids to make roster. Tryouts U10 thru U12 will be with Chad Hench (DCUSA DOC) at Central and U13 and above will be at Tryo Middle with Chris Brown (DCUSA DOC). Tryouts will consist of stretching and dividing up and making small fields for kids to scrimmage on. Coaches will move from field to field making notes and watching. Administration will be headed up by Lynn Gobble. 5-7 volunteers for each location. Lynn will also order shirts for kids with numbers and gold shirts for DCUSA Staff. 100 White and 100 Gray shirts will be ordered. 40-YL 40-AM and 20 AL of each color. Team Selection It will not be the Coaches decision alone when picking a player for the team. Team Selections will be posted on the website. High School team U15-U18 Coach has been interviewed and selected as Tom Jackson. U10 Girls coach- has not been filled U12 Girls coach-Chad Hench is currently setting up an interview. June 30th Elections May 31st Publicly announced and/or posted on the website. Announcements Open house will be May 22nd 6:00-7:30 at Finch Park shelter #2. Lynn will arrange for refreshments. Motion I Motion was made by Chad Hench that every child that trys out will try out age or grade appropriate unless you are currently playing on a DCUSA team that is moving up.
